Inspired by equestrian culture, the pattern was crafted from green plaid wool felt originally used for horse blankets and saddle pads. Bohan, known for modernizing Dior with a more relaxed elegance, transformed this utilitarian fabric into a symbol of luxury, marking a shift in the house’s identity during the late '60s. The "Trotter" design later became a staple in Dior accessories and saw a major revival in the early 2000s under John Galliano.
