Vintage LV Cartouchiere GM | February'82 Crossbody Bag

The Louis Vuitton Cartouchière is one of our favourite vintage crossbody bags, introduced around 1980. Now discontinued, it’s no longer available in stores, making it a true vintage find if you’re lucky enough to come across one. Interestingly, the name “Cartouchière” has military roots, derived from the word “bandolier,” a belt used by soldiers to carry cartridges. A cartridge belt held both the socket and the projectile of portable firearms, giving this elegant bag a surprisingly functional origin.
